Good write up kartik simple enough to make sense to me! Is there any estimate/a guess for how long before the gap to human brain is closed? Years? Decades? Or more? And one more major source of environmental impact to worry about

The estimates vary a lot, Shoba chitti. A minority of computer scientists believe it cannot be bridged. the vast majority are in the 1-3 decades camp.

The growth is super exponential over data driven solutions and is equally not great with reasoning, it is nearly impossible to guess the estimate of how long, and as prof. Kartik said it is a polarising topic, scientists are in teams debates this topic, but I believe AI can catch up human brain's power, only by understanding how human brain works and neuroscience takes its time.

Fantastic article . I think your comment on modernizing the architecture to reduce costs is spot on. I wonder though what would be the impact on data storage as the data sets grow. Cloud storage is expensive to say the least - does this mean that its potentially a new opportunity for on premise storage?
